 VIETNAM CLASSIC

Day 1: Hanoi ( D )
Welcome to Vietnam , transfer of 45 min to your hotel in town, (if it is still early then we can venture out for some culture shock on a short walking tour in the Old Quarter of Hanoi - this is the way to get familiar with the people and the culture). Welcome dinner and water puppet show at night. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 2: Hanoi – Ha Long Bay ( B , L )
Morning star with touring the capital and visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (outside), its former residence, One Pillar Pagoda, Temple of Literature, Hoam Kiem Lake, Ngoc Son Temple and the Old Quarter. After a free lunch downtown, transfer by road to the famous Halong Bay. On your way, stop at Hai Phong for a sightseeing tour of Vietnam’s most important seaport and visit Du Hang Pagoda, Hang Kenh Communal House and its numerous sculptures in wood. Overnight in Halong.

Day 3:Ha Long – Hanoi ( B , L )
Breakfast at the hotel. Boarding a private boat for a 5-hour Hai Phong for a sightseeing tour of Vietnam’s most important seaport and visit Du Hang Pagoda, Hang Kenh Communal House and its numerous sculptures in wood. Seafood lunch on board will delight you, before returning to Hanoi in the late afternoon. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 4:Hanoi – Phat Diem – Hoa Lu – Hanoi – Lao Cai ( B , L , D )
Breakfast at the hotel. Driving to the village of Kim Son and visit Phat Diem’s cathedral then continue to Van Lam village and board a small sampan for a spectacular 3-hour cruise through numerous waterways, beautiful rural landscape of limestone cliffs and rice paddies, to the stunning Tam Coc caves. Lunch at local restaurant. In the afternoon visit Dinh and Le Dynastic temples before returning to Hanoi in the late afternoon to take the night train to Sapa (departure from Hanoi at 21h30). Overnight on the train.

Day 5: Lao Cai – Sapa ( B , D )
Get Lao Cai Railway Station at about 6h30. Transfer by coach to Sapa (45 mn). Breakfast on arrival at the hotel, just after check-in. Free at leisure at the hotel in the morning.
In the afternoon, visit Ta Van (Day) village, where you will enjoy a walk and discover the traditional way of life of welcoming people. Rice paddies, wooden bridges, and rivers. This area, which still remains unspoiled, offers magnificent scenery.
In the evening, enjoy a dinner in a cosy and friendly atmosphere. Overnight in Sapa.

Day 6: Sapa Surrounding – Hanoi ( B )
Free day to explore on your own the village of Sapa and its colourful market. Sapa is home to more than 30 colorful hill tribes (Black H'mong, Flower H'mong, Red Dao) and to Vietnam’s highest peak: Mount Fansipan. Transfer to LaoCai train station for the night train back Hanoi. Overnight on train.

Day 7: Hanoi – Danang – Hoian ( B , L )
Transfer to the airport for the morning flight to Danang. Welcome on arrival to visit the Cham Museum, Marble Mountains and have a look at China Beach. Continue to the riverside town of Hoi which was an important trading port during the 17th and 18th centuries and which nowadays, is officially listed as a world heritage site. Check into the hotel then take a walking tour round Hoi An ancient town and explore its treasures: the Japanese Bridge, Phuc Kien Pagoda, Phung Hung Old Merchant House, Quang Dong Assembly Hall. Overnight in Hoi An.

Day 8: Hoi An – Da Nang – Hue ( B ,L )
After breakfast transfer to Hue via the Hai Van Pass and through the picturesque fishing village of Lang Co. Check into the hotel and in the afternoon, take a boat for a cruise on the gentle Perfume River and visit Thien Mu Pagoda on the riverbank and Emperor Minh Mang’s tomb. Overnight in Hue.

Day 9: Hue ( B , L )
Morning visit the Imperial Citadel and Emperor Khai Dinh’s mausoleum. In the afternoon visit Emperor Tu Duc’s tomb, Dong Ba market and Diem Phung Thi exhibition of sculptures. Overnight in Hue.

Day 10:Hue  - Saigon ( B , D )
After an early breakfast transfer to Hue Airport for your morning flight to Saigon. On arrival, transfer to your selected hotel. In the same morning, discover bustling Saigon: Enjoy a tour in the Old Colonial Residential Quarter and discover the old Hotel de Ville, the Opera House, Notre-Dame Cathedral (built in the 19th century), the dazzling French-style post office and the Reunification Palace (outside). In the afternoon visit the War Remnants Museum, then continue to Cho Lon and stop at Binh Tay Market. Finally, end the day with a visit to a lacquer ware factory. Overnight in Saigon.

Day 11: Saigon – Cai Be – Vinh Long – Can Tho ( B , L , D )
Morning departure from Ho Chi Minh City and drive overland to Cai Be, in the heart of the Mekong Delta. On arrival, board a sampan for a cruise on the Mekong River and its multiple canals to Vinh Long. Visit Cai Be floating market, an old colonial house, a rice corn factory and taste local specialties for lunch. In the afternoon continue to Can Tho, the main town of the Mekong Delta. Overnight in Can Tho.

Day 12: Cantho – My tho – Saigon ( B , L )
Morning start with a Sampan to visit Cai Rang floating market and a family run noodle-making factory. Witness the rural life and the beautiful vegetation along the riverbanks. Discover Can Tho’s market then drive back to Saigon. On the way, stop at BonSai Garden in My Tho for a rest. Arrive in Saigon late in the afternoon. Overnight in Saigon.

Day 13: Saigon ( B )
Free at leisure until to be transferred to the airport for your next departure.
